Nicholas Cordts

Licensed clinical Social Worker

I believe that healing is possible even through life’s most difficult experiences, and that everyone has the capacity to rediscover meaning, build resilience and create lasting change.

Nicholas is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Kennesaw State University. He has extensive experience working with adults navigating addiction and recovery and brings a compassionate, collaborative approach to helping individuals overcome life's challenges. Nicholas has a particular passion for supporting those experiencing grief and loss, helping clients find meaning, rebuild their sense of self, and move forward with greater confidence and purpose.

Throughout his career, Nicholas has developed a strong understanding of how personal experiences, family dynamics, and underlying beliefs influence emotional well-being and behavior. He works collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful patterns, strengthen relationships, and develop healthier ways of navigating life's challenges. His areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, grief and loss, self-esteem, anger management, and stress related to careers and relationships.

Nicholas takes an individualized approach to therapy, recognizing that each person's experiences and goals are unique. He frequently incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients strengthen emotional regulation, improve communication, and navigate interpersonal conflict. He also integrates trauma-informed approaches, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Safety Behavior Therapy, to help individuals explore and challenge negative beliefs that may be keeping them stuck in painful patterns.

At the heart of Nicholas's approach is the belief that a strong therapeutic relationship creates the foundation for meaningful change. He strives to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel understood, respected, and empowered to explore their experiences. Whether navigating a major life transition, working through past trauma, or seeking healthier relationships, Nicholas is committed to helping clients develop the tools and insight needed to create a more fulfilling life.

Outside of his work as a therapist, Nicholas enjoys mountain biking, drawing, and spending time with his family, including his two cats, Poppy and Thorn.
